At 9:45 p.m. on Dec. 27, 1986, Cara Knott called her family and said she was heading home to El Cajon from her boyfriend’s place in Escondido driving southbound on HWY 15. When she didn’t return home from her boyfriend’s residence, her parents were immediately alerted.
Her body would later be located and the suspect would be someone no one ever saw coming.......
